About FishCast Now

Simple, honest fishing forecasts built from official data.

FishCast Now started with a simple question every angler asks: is it worth going fishing today, and when? The answer is spread across tide tables, weather sites, moon charts and state stocking reports. We put it in one place and keep it short.

What we do

  • Daily forecasts for saltwater spots in Florida and stocked lakes in Washington, with more states to come.
  • Real data only. We only publish a spot when we have reliable official data for it - a NOAA tide station or state stocking records.
  • A clear bite outlook. A 1 to 5 fish rating with the reasons behind it. It is always an estimate, and we say so.

Where our data comes from

  • Tide predictions: NOAA Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services
  • Weather: the National Weather Service (with MET Norway as a backup if NWS is unavailable)
  • Trout stocking: Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
  • Sun and moon times: calculated on our own servers
  • Lake locations: OpenStreetMap contributors
  • Moon picture: NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (public domain). US flag: Wikimedia Commons (public domain). Aerial views: USGS National Map (public domain).

We are not affiliated with any government agency. Always check official rules and local conditions before you go.
