Ocean City: the inlet jetties, a busy fishing pier and the coastal bays behind Assateague.

What's biting now (Fall): Striped bass (rockfish) feed aggressively in the bay; white perch move to deeper water.

Commonly caught in this area: Flounder, striped bass, tautog, bluefish and sea bass.

Also caught here: tautog, black sea bass, croaker, kingfish.

Piers put you over deeper water without a boat. Fish the pilings for sheepshead and snapper, and cast out from the end for mackerel and pompano when they run. Many Florida piers sell a license that covers everyone fishing from that pier.
