Fishing Pascagoula

A short, sheltered coast behind barrier islands, with long fishing piers, harbors and river mouths.

What's biting now (Fall): Speckled trout and redfish feed along the sound and marshes; flounder move toward the passes.

Commonly caught in this area: Speckled trout, redfish, flounder, sheepshead and Spanish mackerel.

Also caught here: croaker, black drum, hardhead catfish, jack crevalle, tripletail, cobia.

Tidal rivers and creek mouths are best when the tide is moving and draining bait out of the marsh. Fish points, bends and oyster bars on the falling tide.

How the bite outlook works

The rating is our estimate, not a guarantee. It combines tide range, wind, rain and storms, temperature swings, the moon phase and how well the solunar periods line up with dawn and dusk. Fish do not read forecasts - local knowledge always wins. Read more
